The Journal of Information Systems Education (JISE)

The Journal of Information Systems Education (JISE) is an academic, peer reviewed IS journal that focuses on IS education.

JISE seeks original articles on current topics of special interests to information systems educators. The journal publishes applications-oriented and research articles covering information systems education and training topics. Curriculum design and implementation issues and research or application oriented articles that describe curriculum, pedagogy, professional development or educational facilities issues will be considered for publication in the journal. Possible topics include: course projects/cases, lecture materials, curriculum design and/or implementation, workshops, faculty/student internal/external programs, hardware/software selection, industry relations, etc.

JISE welcomes your submissions. All manuscripts will be refereed by a rigorous evaluation process involving at least two blind reviews by qualified academic, industrial, or governmental IS professionals and members of the editorial office. Submissions will be judged not only on the suitability of the content, but also on the readability and clarity of the prose. All manuscripts selected for publication must maintain a high standard of content, style and value to the readership. An important criterion for acceptance of a manuscript for publication is the relevance of the work to the educational/training environment and its potential usefulness for advancing the quality of IS education or training.

Mission

The mission of the Journal of Information Systems Education is to be the premier journal on information systems (IS) education. To support that mission, JISE emphasizes quality and relevance in the papers that it publishes. In addition, JISE recognizes the international influences on IS education and seeks international input in all aspects of the journal, including content, authorship of papers, readership, paper reviewers, and Editorial Board membership.

To accomplish this mission, JISE continually seeks original articles of special interest to IS educators. Submissions should generally cover one of the following topics: teaching tips; innovative classroom practices; IS curriculum issues; research in IS education; cases for use in an IS classroom; pedagogy in teaching IS subjects; teaching assessment; industry relations; or other related topics in IS education.

JISE is a refereed international journal sponsored by the Education Special Interest Group (EDSIG) of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP).

Comments regarding the mission of JISE should be directed to the Editor.
